AURA Studio vs FASHN
AI fashion studio and virtual try-on. Claims checked against public sources on .
FASHN and AURA overlap heavily: both are finished studio apps, not APIs, and both do product-to-model, virtual try-on, model creation, and video. FASHN wins on price, raw resolution, and developer access. AURA is narrower on purpose: it is built around one recognisable model reused across a season, an editable composited text layer for prices and badges, and post-ready feed, story, and reel shapes, with WhatsApp support for buyers who do not want a ticket queue. If your deciding factor is cost per image, choose FASHN.
Which one to choose
Choose AURA Studio if
- You want the same recognisable person across a whole season rather than the widest model catalog.
- Your images carry prices or badges, and you want that text crisp, correct, and free to edit afterwards.
- You would rather answer two questions than twenty, and have a template make the rest of the decisions.
- You want to reach a human on WhatsApp when something looks wrong.
Choose FASHN if
- Cost per image is your deciding number, or you generate at high volume.
- You want 4K masters straight out of the tool.
- You have a developer and want to wire generation into your own pipeline through an API.
- You want a native iOS app rather than a mobile web app.
What FASHN does well
FASHN is the price and throughput leader in this category, and it is not close. Entry pricing is low for the credit volume, images go up to 4K, video is included, there is a real studio app and an iOS app, and there is a documented API for teams that want to build on it. If cost per image is your deciding number, FASHN is very hard to beat and you should try it.

The differences that actually matter
Correcting the record: FASHN is not an API you have to build on
This page used to say FASHN was a developer API and that you needed an engineer to use it. That was wrong, and it is worth stating plainly rather than quietly deleting. FASHN ships a full studio web app and an iOS app with product-to-model, model swap, try-on, model creation, and AI image editing, and the API is a separate product on top. A boutique owner can use FASHN directly today, with no code.
Price is a real reason to choose them
FASHN's entry tier bundles a credit volume at a price that AURA does not try to match, and images go to 4K on that same tier. AURA is priced against what a photoshoot costs, which is the right frame for a buyer replacing a studio day and the wrong frame for a buyer comparing cost per generated image. If you are running hundreds of images a month and the deciding number is unit cost, that decision is already made and it is not us.
What AURA is buying with the difference
Narrowness. Templates answer every camera, pose, and light decision in advance, so a full look set is two choices rather than twenty. Output shapes are deliverables, not crops: a 9:16 story is composed to keep the figure clear of the edges the interface eats. Text is composited as vector paths, so a price is always spelled right and always free to change. None of that beats a lower unit price if unit price is what you are buying.
Switching from FASHN
Both are self-serve web apps with nothing to migrate, so the switch costs a signup. The honest test is to run the same five garments through both in the same afternoon and compare the finished posts, including the text you would put on them, not the raw generations.
Questions
- Do I need a developer to use FASHN?
- No. FASHN has a full studio web app and an iOS app that a boutique owner can use directly. The API is a separate product for teams that want it. Older comparison pages, including an earlier version of this one, described FASHN as API-only, which is not correct.
- Is FASHN cheaper than AURA?
- Yes, on published entry pricing FASHN gives you more credits for less money and includes 4K. If cost per image is what you are optimising, that is the honest answer and you should start there.
- Then why would a boutique choose AURA?
- For continuity and finish rather than volume: one model reused across a season, output shapes that are deliverables rather than crops, and prices and badges composited as an editable text layer so they never come back misspelled. If those are not your problems, FASHN is the better buy.
