Guide
The best AI photo apps for Shopify fashion stores in 2026
By The AURA Studio team. Published .
For on-model photos made inside Shopify, the fashion apps with a live App Store listing on 2 October 2026 are Modelia, Nightjar, Veeton, Ayna and The New Black, plus Photoroom from its Max plan. Most have fewer than ten reviews, so test before you commit. Botika's connector is unavailable, and FASHN and AURA Studio have no app: you download and upload.

How this list was made
Every app here was read on its Shopify App Store listing on 2 October 2026: the plans Shopify bills, the free allowance, the rating with its review count, and the date the app launched. Those numbers are what you agree to when you click Install, and they are not always the same as the vendor's own website.
AURA Studio publishes this guide and has no Shopify app, so it is not a candidate for the in-admin workflow this page is about. It appears near the end as the download-and-upload option. For features, video and pricing away from Shopify, read our comparison of 11 AI fashion photography tools; this page does not repeat it.
Ratings here rest on very few reviews: most apps had fewer than ten on the day we checked. Treat them as anecdotes, not scores, and run your own test.
The short version
| App | Entry price on Shopify | Free to try | Rating | Listed since |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Modelia | $35 a month, 250 credits | 50 credits a month | 4.8 from 7 reviews | Sep 2025 |
| Nightjar | $25 a month, 150 images | 6 images | 3.6 from 3 reviews | Dec 2025 |
| Veeton | $12.99 a month | Free plan | No reviews yet | Jun 2026 |
| Ayna | $13 for 20 images, one-time | 12 images | 4.5 from 5 reviews | Sep 2025 |
| The New Black | $15 a month, 200 credits | Credits at signup | 5.0 from 4 reviews | Jul 2026 |
| Photoroom | Free to install; sync needs Max | Trial on paid plans | 4.0 from 33 reviews | Mar 2023 |
| StoreYa AI Models | $14 for 60 images, one-time | 15 images | 4.7 from 33 reviews | Sep 2025 |
| Modelize | $19 a month, 100 images | 10 images | 4.9 from 26 reviews | Apr 2026 |
The first six are fashion specialists or, in Photoroom's case, a major editor with a fashion model tool. The last two are general product-photo apps that carry Shopify's Built for Shopify badge and also put clothes on AI models.
What an app inside Shopify actually gets you
Two things: images that land on the product without a download and re-upload, and a charge on your Shopify bill instead of another card subscription. For a catalog of hundreds of products that matters. For twenty new pieces a month, downloading and uploading takes minutes, so do not let the integration outweigh image quality.
- Permissions: an app that writes images back needs access to edit your products. Each listing has a data access section that shows what the app can see and change.
- Size: Shopify says that "for square product images, a size of 2048 x 2048 px usually displays best", and accepts up to 5000 x 5000 px (Shopify Help Center). Check what each app exports.
- Shopify's own AI editor changes backgrounds, lighting and other aspects of an existing image on the Basic plan and up, and marks every generated image with an invisible watermark. Its help page does not describe putting a garment on a model (Shopify Help Center).
- Google Shopping: if your products sync to Google, AI-generated images must keep AI metadata. Our guide to marketplace rules for AI model photos explains what to check.
Modelia: fashion-only, with content credentials
Modelia turns garment photos into images of realistic AI models and is built for fashion brands. Its own site says it attaches C2PA content credentials to every image, a machine-readable record that the image was made with AI. If you sell on Google Shopping, check that the record survives the upload.
- On Shopify
- Free: 50 credits a month (10 a day); Flexible $20 one-time for 100 credits; Basic $35 a month for 250; Pro $85 for 750
- Rating
- 4.8 from 7 reviews; launched 24 September 2025
- On its own site
- Creator plan $30 a month for 150 credits, about 50 images
- Your own model
- Reusable consistent characters
Checked on Modelia on Shopify, Modelia pricing.
- Best for: a fashion brand that wants provenance metadata on every image and a recurring free allowance to test with.
- The catch: the plans Shopify bills are not the plans on Modelia's website, so compare cost per image both ways before you install.
Nightjar: catalog consistency, no video
Nightjar is built for realistic product photography across a whole catalog, with or without AI fashion models. You save a photography style or a model once and reuse it, and its listing says it preserves logos, text, texture, colour and shape.
- On Shopify
- Free: 6 images, no card; Studio $25 a month for 150 images; Studio+ $50 for 400
- Rating
- 3.6 from 3 reviews; launched 19 December 2025
- Your own model
- Yes, from 1 to 5 photos of someone who has given permission
- Video
- None, on its site or in its API docs
Checked on Nightjar on Shopify, Nightjar AI fashion models.
- Best for: a store with many products across categories that wants every image in the same style, and an API later.
- The catch: no video, and only three reviews so far, one of them a one-star. See AURA vs Nightjar.
Veeton: the cheapest entry, the newest listing
Veeton, based in Paris, turns flat-lay or mannequin photos into on-model images and fashion video, and covers categories many tools skip, including kids, shoes and bags. Its Shopify app is the newest here.
- On Shopify
- Free plan; Pro-100 at $12.99 a month up to Pro-2000 at $199.99
- Rating
- No reviews yet; launched 26 June 2026
- Your own model
- Custom AI model creation from Pro
- Volume
- Pro-100 is 100 credits, about 10 images at 10 credits each, per Veeton's pricing page
Checked on Veeton on Shopify, Veeton pricing.
- Best for: a catalog that includes kidswear, footwear or bags alongside clothing.
- The catch: about 10 images a month on the entry plan, and no reviews to go on yet. See AURA vs Veeton.
Ayna: pay per pack, with stylists
Ayna sells one-time packs of 20 images instead of a subscription on Shopify. It works from flat lays, mannequin or on-model photos, offers 1,000+ models and 500+ backgrounds, writes listing copy, and makes crops for marketplaces such as Myntra, Amazon, Macy's and Zalando. Its listing also mentions a stylist service for edits.
- On Shopify
- Free to install with 12 images; then 20-image packs at $13, $17 or $34, credits never expire
- Rating
- 4.5 from 5 reviews; launched 15 September 2025
- Resolution
- HD 1080p on the $13 pack; 2K plus 4K upscale from the $17 pack
- Your own model
- Custom AI models from the $17 pack
Checked on Ayna on Shopify, Ayna pricing.
- Best for: an irregular seller who would rather buy images when needed than pay monthly.
- The catch: at 20 images per pack, a large catalog adds up, and the cheapest pack outputs at 1080p, below Shopify's 2048 px recommendation for square images.
The New Black: a whole fashion platform, not just photos
The New Black covers far more than product photos: AI models and virtual try-on, product video, tech packs for factories, store and SEO checks, and AI agents that can publish to your store. Its listing says images publish straight to your Shopify product pages, and every plan includes API and Claude MCP access.
- On Shopify
- Starter $15 a month for 200 credits; Pro $35 for 500; Business $65 for 1,000; Enterprise $195 for 3,000
- Rating
- 5.0 from 4 reviews; launched 6 July 2026
- Free to try
- Free credits at signup; the amount is not stated
- Resolution
- 2K on Starter, 4K from Pro
Checked on The New Black on Shopify, The New Black pricing.
- Best for: a brand that designs its own collections and wants one tool from tech pack to product page.
- The catch: a lot of platform if all you need is on-model photos, and a very new Shopify app.
Photoroom: the most-reviewed, if you pay for Max
Photoroom's AI Listing Assistant imports your catalog, edits images in bulk, and exports them back to Shopify, with a listing score that flags products needing work. It has been on the App Store the longest of these apps. AI fashion models are one tool among many in Photoroom, not its focus.
- On Shopify
- Free to install; the Shopify integration is not included on Pro and is included from Max
- Rating
- 4.0 from 33 reviews, 7 of them one-star; launched 6 March 2023
- Fashion models
- 1K on Pro, 2K from Max
- Price
- Shown by region on Photoroom's site; check the Max price in your country
Checked on Photoroom on Shopify, Photoroom pricing.
- Best for: a store selling more than clothing that wants one editor for every product photo.
- The catch: the Shopify sync needs the Max plan or above, and 7 of its 33 reviews are one-star, so read them before you pay for Max. See AURA vs Photoroom.
Two Built for Shopify generalists
Shopify gives its Built for Shopify badge to apps that meet "our highest standards for performance, design, and integration". Of the apps we checked, two that put clothing on AI models carried it on 2 October 2026, and both had more reviews than any of the fashion-only apps above. Neither is fashion-only itself.
- StoreYa AI Models & Product Photos
- 15 free images; one-time packs of 60 for $14, 225 for $45, 550 for $99; ready-made models, or create your own; 4.7 from 33 reviews
- Modelize
- 10 free images; $19 a month for 100, $49 for 250 up to 4K, $99 for 500; custom models; 4.9 from 26 reviews
Checked on StoreYa on Shopify, Modelize on Shopify.
The badge speaks to how well an app runs inside Shopify, not to how faithfully it renders a print or a drape. Test them on your hardest garments like any other tool.
Well-known tools with no Shopify app
- Botika: its listing reads "Botika Connector. This app is not currently available on the Shopify App Store." (listing)
- FASHN, WearView, Photta and Claid: no App Store listing found on 2 October 2026. All four work through download and upload, and FASHN, Photta and Claid offer APIs a developer can connect.
- AURA Studio (us): no app and no API. More below.
A name to watch: "Aura AI Studio" on the Shopify App Store is made by IYIA, a company in Italy, and has nothing to do with AURA Studio at aurastudio-ai.com (listing).
AURA Studio: the download-and-upload option (that's us)
AURA is for a store whose product pages and Instagram should show the same face. You upload one photo of a garment, pick one of four house models or upload one photo of your own model, and get editorial on-model photos and short video. You then download them and add them to the product in Shopify yourself.

- Shopify app
- None, and no API: download and upload
- Entry plan
- Starter, €29 a month for 150 credits; one credit per photo
- Free to try
- A week with 10 photos and 1 video, no card
- File sizes
- 1024 x 1024 square, 1024 x 1536 portrait, 1080 x 1350 feed, 1080 x 1920 story
- Video
- 5, 8 or 12 seconds; 720p on Starter, 1080p from Studio at €89
Checked on AURA pricing.
- Best for: a boutique that wants one recognisable model across the store and its social posts. Our guide to keeping the same model across photos shows how that works.
- The catch: no sync, and square files at 1024 px, half of Shopify's 2048 px recommendation. If image zoom matters on your product pages, pick an app above that exports at 2K or 4K.
How to choose
- You want AI metadata on every image by default: Modelia.
- You want one style across a large, mixed catalog: Nightjar.
- You want the cheapest monthly entry, or you sell kidswear, shoes or bags: Veeton.
- You buy images in bursts rather than monthly: Ayna, or StoreYa's one-time packs.
- You design your own collections: The New Black.
- You sell more than clothing and edit every product photo: Photoroom on Max.
- You want the same face on your product pages and Instagram, and do not mind uploading by hand: AURA Studio.
Before you install anything
Compare the Shopify price with the vendor's own
Billing through Shopify is convenient, but the plans can differ. Work out the cost per image both ways.
Read the data access section
It is at the foot of every listing. An app that writes images back needs product access; that is normal, but know what you are granting.
Test your three hardest pieces
A busy print, a structured shoulder and something sheer. Our tool comparison explains how to count keepers and work out cost per keeper.
Check the exported file
Its pixel size against Shopify's 2048 px guidance, and, if you sell on Google Shopping, whether the AI metadata survived the upload.

Questions
- What is the best AI photo app for a Shopify clothing store?
- It depends on the job. On listings checked 2 October 2026: Modelia for AI metadata on every image, Nightjar for one style across a large catalog, Veeton for the lowest monthly entry and kidswear or shoes, Ayna for one-time image packs, The New Black for brands that design their own collections, and Photoroom on its Max plan for stores selling more than clothing.
- Is there a free AI model photo app for Shopify?
- Several have free allowances. On 2 October 2026: Modelia gave 50 credits a month, Veeton had a free plan, StoreYa's app gave 15 images, Ayna 12, Modelize 10 and Nightjar 6. Free allowances are for testing; none covers a catalog.
- Does Botika have a Shopify app?
- Not one you can install. On 2 October 2026 its App Store listing read: Botika Connector. This app is not currently available on the Shopify App Store.
- Does FASHN work with Shopify?
- Not through an App Store app; we found no listing on 2 October 2026. You can download images from FASHN and upload them to Shopify, or have a developer connect FASHN's API.
- Can Shopify's own AI put my clothes on a model?
- Shopify's built-in media generation edits the background, lighting and other aspects of an existing image, and adds an invisible watermark to what it generates. Its help page does not describe putting a garment on a model, which is what the apps on this list do.
- Is Aura AI Studio on Shopify the same as AURA Studio?
- No. Aura AI Studio on the Shopify App Store is made by IYIA, a company in Italy. AURA Studio, which publishes this guide, has no Shopify app.
